Housing Support Officer

**Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Housing Support Officer to work with one of our Housing associations in Brentwood**
**What the job will be doing**
- Effectively manage a caseload that provides constructive guidance to clients through dynamic support planning, being proactive in preventing rent arrears building-up and to ensure that resident have the opportunity move-on in a positive manner.
- Ensure that residents are continuously assessed under an established risk and safeguarding framework with appropriate action taken.
- To provide housing related support to service users and customers to enable them to maintain their tenancies and to achieve their aspirations for independent living. This will be done using the Homeless Outcome Star technique via our system Inform.
- Carry out and tailor one to one and group-based interventions to service user’s needs.
- Identify users’ individual support needs and, through consultation and agreement with the user devise and implement suitable support plans to ensure that identified support needs are met.
- Encourage and support tenants to live as fully and independently as possible within the local community, providing information, emotional, organisational and practical support and training as appropriate.
- Carry out risk assessments as and when necessary due to the changing needs and aspirations of users.
- Organise and provide appropriate support for tenants preparing to move-on to greater independence, including support through the move and resettlement into their new home.
- Liaise with other housing, health and social care professionals, benefits, welfare and advocacy agencies, and other landlords as required.
**What you will need**
- Experience of working with socially excluded young people
- Experience of working with young people in a residential setting
- Experience of working in a social or supported housing
- Experience of working with young people with complex needs
- Understanding the importance of Safeguarding
