**About the role**
His Majesty’s Attorney General’s Chambers provides legal services to the Isle of Man Government and supports the Attorney General in the exercise of his statutory functions. There are five main functional areas within Chambers, i.e. Civil, Criminal Prosecutions, Commercial, Advisory/Secondary Legislation and Legislative Drafting.
You will be responsible for the fair, effective and efficient prosecution of all criminal offences and, in particular, offences which fall within the RASSO/Serious Crime framework. This will include responsibility for all aspects of the conduct of the case encompassing early investigative advice, pre charge advice, making appearances as necessary in the Court of General Gaol Delivery, the Staff of Government Division, the Courts of Summary Jurisdiction and Privy Council.
You will enjoy a significant level of autonomy and will also, where appropriate, contribute towards policy and strategy formation in the practice area in conjunction with the Director and HMAG.

**Things to note**
This post is a limited term appointment for 2 years.
The successful applicant **must** be available to give advice to the Isle of Man Constabulary out of hours on a rota basis and will also be **required** to attend Courts on Saturdays and Bank Holidays also on a rota basis as required unless otherwise directed by the Director of Prosecutions.
A Standard police check is required for this post, which the Isle of Man Government will cover the cost of for you.
