Senior Accountant
Salary - £60,000 p.a + Bonus and Benefits (pro rata)
Location - Kingston**

My client is a global commodity trading and processing company.

The role of Senior Accountant/ Controller will oversee and supervise the accounting and reporting of their UK operations and will be focused around month and year end closings.

Our UK operations are composed of two separate businesses:
The role has dual reporting lines being into the local business managers and to the Group Accounting Controller based in Switzerland. The role will generally be based out of the Kingston office with a part remote allowance available (due to the nature ofthe role, flexibility on days/hours around the month end period is key).

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the month end and year end closings for both of their UK operations
- Generation and validation of Group management accounts
- Partner with local management in preparing annual budgets and forecasts
- Manage expenses, payroll, the UK VAT return
- Monthly review of inventories and reconciliation
- Monthly reporting to the ultimate parent, my clients group via their reporting tool
- Reconciliation of intercompany accounts
- Chief liaison with UK external auditors
- Liaison with auditors in Singapore and Dubai for local filing requirements
- Maintenance the internal control system
- Collaboration to ad hoc projects and analysis
- Coaching of 2 Accountants

**Skills & Experience**
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
- Previous related experience within Accounts in an international environment
- Knowledge of commodities/trading companies is an advantage
- Rigorous, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills and strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to work independently
- Proactive, dynamic and the ability to multi-task
- Experience with SAP BYD would be a strong advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
