Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Gaelic Education Òraidiche ann am Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig on a Teaching and Scholarship or Teaching and Research track.

We welcome applicants who can contribute to the development of a vision for Primary Education in ITE in the School of Education and deliver high quality Teacher Education with due regard to inter-disciplinarity, Learning for Sustainability, Equality and Diversity and Professional Learning, and have been active in leading and designing innovative projects and developing partnerships between community and schools.

There is flexibility within this post to appoint on a Grade 8 or 9, either on a Teaching and Research or Teaching and Scholarship track.

The appointee will be responsible for teaching and administering courses on the undergraduate MA Primary Education with Gaelic (Fluent speakers) and MA Primary Education with Gaelic (Learners) programmes; and contribute to the wider work of the Institute and the School as required by the Head of Institute.

Your skills and attributes for success:

- GTCS registered (primary)
- Experience of working in Gaelic medium primary education
- Current knowledge and understanding of Scottish Government Education policy including Gaelic medium primary education.
- Gaelic speaker
- Ability to present a high level of credibility amongst education practitioners in ITE and schools sector.
- An aptitude for approaching learning and teaching in creative, innovative and engaging ways.
- Be self-motivated, able to work independently.
