**Role summary**

DA Languages is looking for linguists to join our network of interpreters and translators to provide interpretation to the police. This is a fantastic opportunity for linguists experienced in the Criminal Justice sector.

Police interpreting is an important role, ensuring vital information is communicated accurately. Interpreters must be calm under pressure under sometimes challenging circumstances.

Applicants should be native speakers of the language they interpret in. Work may be in-person or remote.

DA Languages currently provides language services in over 450 languages and dialects. We welcome linguists who speak all languages, but for this opportunity we are particularly interested in hearing from speakers of:

- Polish
- Romanian
- Albanian
- Arabic
- Bulgarian
**Requirements**:
Minimum PAIT requirements:

- More than 100 hours Public Service Interpreting experience, including 30 in a police setting
- NPPV Level 3 Vetted or has submitted the documentation to Police Vetting Unit
- Police related qualification, other level 6 non-Police related qualification, or demonstrable experience in your language(s)
- All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
**About DA Languages**

Our linguists receive access to free online training and resources, and our friendly team is on hand to provide support. Our in-house app for linguists, DA Linked, makes every booking simple and streamlined, from receiving notifications about available jobs to sending a paperless timesheet direct to payroll at the end of an appointment.
