Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of around 100 world-class metallurgists, mechanical engineers, technicians, and software developers working across three offices in the UK and one in the US, building the future of advanced metal components. We use proprietary software packages which combine advanced machine learning and physical modelling, as well as extensive experimental facilities, to 3D print metal components better and faster than anyone else.

At our premises in Yarnton and Abingdon, near Oxford, we are aiming to build the world’s fastest, smartest, and best-equipped facility for the rapid development of additively manufactured parts for the electronics, aerospace and industrial sectors, and novel metal alloys for better performance.

**The Role**

Alloyed is seeking a motivated individual to join its energetic, growing team as Health and Safety Assistant where your main responsibility will be to maintain a safe, efficient, and pleasant working environment for all employees.

You will assist the H&S manager and coordinator and work closely with all members of staff based in the offices, laboratories and workshops, to put in place the right measures to prevent accidents and ill-health as well as ensuring legal compliance.

Your primary place of work will be at our Head Office in Yarnton, Oxford OX5 1QU, however your duties will regularly require you to work at our sites in Abingdon. Sites located at both Yarnton and Abingdon should be considered as your permanent places of work.

You will receive a highly competitive remuneration package, including salary, pension and equity incentives. Training will be provided as required.

**Responsibilities**
- Maintaining and promoting high standards in Health and Safety, in a fast-changing business environment
- Promoting a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the workforce
- Communicating with technicians and engineers to understand complex processes and implementing the right safety measures
- Carrying out accidents and near-miss investigation and implementing resulting actions to improve current working practices/guidelines.
- Performing the regular review and update of company risk assessments, procedures, signage and policies.
- Organising training for staff, either internally or using external providers
- Performing audits to monitor compliance
- Managing stock of personal protective equipment
- Ensuring safety-critical devices and systems are maintained.

**Essential**
- Desire to make people's time at work as safe and enjoyable as possible
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills: you are also results-oriented and tenacious
- Good standards of IT skills including Microsoft Office
- UK driving licence

**Desirable**
- Understanding of UK Health and Safety legislation
- Familiarity in working in a laboratory or production environment
- A track record in Health and Safety management in a scientific environment.
- IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
