Production Buyer

We have been designing and delivering communication solutions for over 25 years. We are ambitious, have seen exponential growth over the last 5 years, and have an aggressive growth plan for the next 10 years. We work across all verticals, but have particularly strong relationships within construction, MOD, Hospitality and Utilities. We are growing, and to cope with demand require a part time Production Buyer to join the team

Working as an effective production Buyer, you will work closely with the with the Group Finance Manager to ensure materials are purchased in a cost efficient and timely manner to satisfy the production demand. You will be responsible for the placement of purchase orders in conjunction with demand through an ERP system, confirming acknowledgement dates and chasing deliveries.

**The main purpose of the role is**:

- Strategic negotiation, cost efficient and shrewd procurement of electronic components, printed circuit boards and electromechanical sub-assemblies
- Processing and management of all Company purchases
- Ensuring all deliveries are met for incoming deliveries
- Supporting non-conformance and root cause investigations
- Sourcing and establishing supply chains
- Correlation of supplier and purchasing performance data
- Measuring and monitoring of all suppliers
- Providing R&D, production and the sales team with accurate material costs and availability information
- Be forthcoming with ideas and continuous improvement
- Be proficient in using MS Excel and Word
- Be professional in your manner
- Liaise with other departments
- Have good attention to detail
- Be able to communicate at all levels

**It may be an advantage if you had**:

- Purchasing or stock control experience
- Experience of working with OrderWise, Syrinx and Sage
