Biomedical Assistant

An opportunity has arisen within the Pathology Department at Lincoln County Hospital for a Biomedical Assistant, based in the Blood Sciences department.
Previous laboratory experience would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.
You will be required to have good communication and keyboard skills, along with the ability to work under pressure. Although supervised by Biomedical Scientists, once fully trained, you should be capable of working independently.
Participation in the 24hr shift service is a requirement of the post.

Biomedical Assistants are technical support staff within the blood science laboratory. With suitable training they perform analyser maintenance, basic troubleshooting, some simple manual tests under supervision to ensure samples meet their turnaround times. They will carry out audits, stock checks, stock rotation, reagent preparation and general support to the Biomedical Scientists.
