Sitting within our Defence Airframes business line at our Portsmouth manufacturing plant you’ll do just that. Established in 1990, Portsmouth is one of our newer locations with a workforce of circa 200 employees. The site is a leading technology provider for the aerospace, marine and military markets supplying an extensive range of specialist fuel tanks and flotation systems, as well as engineering expertise and support for fixed and rotary wing aircrafts, land vehicles, missiles, UAVs, torpedoes and marine vessels. Our customer base includes Airbus, BAE Systems, Bell, Boeing, General Automics, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Sikorsky, Saab, MOD.

Job Summary
As a Quality Systems Auditor you’ll fulfil the role of an Internal Auditor. You’ll report to the Quality Manager joining the Quality Team. You’ll take responsibility for conducting internal audits of the Quality Management System, processes against Regulatory Requirements, Industry Standards, Customer and GKN Aerospace requirements within our departments such as Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Logistics and Customer Support. You’ll assist the Site Quality Manager in the delivery of audit activities that supports our audit plans and schedules. This will include:

- Participating in audit engagement planning, scoping, and follow-up activities
- Ensuring adequate preparation for the conduct of the audits and that the objectives of the audit are fully achieved
- Ensuring that audits are conducted in accordance with site audit procedures, are adequately documented and aligned to the site audit plan
- Evaluating the audit evidence, non-conformities and providing recommendations and opportunities for improvement
- Communicating subsequent recommendations, including risk identification and feed back to the Site Quality Manager
- Supporting the root cause and corrective action activities
- Promoting Quality Culture across the site
- Identify and share across the business, best practices and support continuous improvement of the QMS and its processes

How You'll Contribute
To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
**Essential**:

- Demonstrable experience within a Manufacturing environment
- Experience of working in a quality assurance environment
- Confident communication skills, able to work cross functionally across the business
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Office suite in particular Word and Excel
- Minimum requirement GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)

**Desirable**:

- Certification as an Internal or External Auditor through a certified Training Partner
- Demonstrable experience within an aerospace or automotive environment
- Experience in undertaking Internal Audits against the audit process requirements defined within ISO 19011
- Experience in Practical Problem Solving (PPS) and Route Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA) Techniques in order to provide effective audit follow up / closure assessments
- A HNC or equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering
- Demonstrable knowledge of aviation regulators and aerospace quality requirements
