**Grade D : £36,803 - £43,363 (based on 35 hour contract)**

We are looking to recruit a Scaffolding Instructor Supervisor for our training delivery arm; The National Construction College which is situated in Erith. (London).

As a scaffold Instructor Supervisor you will Manage the Scaffold Training team supporting the College Manager, ensuring the team deliver innovative and engaging training. We are looking for someone with a good deal of experience in scaffolding and in particular the day-to-day management or supervision of scaffolders.

Your day-to-day activities will include planning, preparing and monitoring to ensure NCC continues to deliver outstanding training.

If you have gained experience (must have held a CISRS Card for 10 years and hold a CISRS Advanced Card for 5 years), with supervisory / Management experience and think you have the skills and ability to lead our access team in training the next generation and upskilling the existing workforce in the scaffolding sector then why not apply.

**Role Accountabilities**:

- Supervise the delivery of the teaching team to meet operational needs and ensure continued professional development and competence is maintained by your team.
- Lead, Manage, Supervise, co-ordinate and act as a focal point for staff, trainees, external contractors and visitors.
- Course Development and Standardisation. Manage your team and ensure the development and allocation of resources to ensure ongoing development of programmes and materials including training aids, lesson plans and time tables.
- Ensure your team produce bespoke work that meets the needs of the department, legislative requirements, client and where appropriate certifications bodies.
- Ensure curriculum direct delivery areas are structured and resourced to deliver training effectively and efficiently
- Contribute to the Curriculums key deliverables ensuring that the financial targets (income and expenditure) are maximised and are in line with the financial plan.
- Support the College Manager in preparing the Curriculums Operational Plan.
- Support the Curriculum in an Advisory capacity providing Information and Support whilst attending external key stakeholder meetings. As and. when requested by the College Manager.
- Staff Recruitment / Development. In conjunction with College Manager, manage the recruitment of Instructional staff
- Carryout Performance Plans/reviews with your direct line reports ensuring their performance and behaviours meet CITBs expectations.
- Consistently display and promote CITBs behaviours

**Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience**:
**Essential**
- Extensive experience of the relative occupational area.
- Recognised apprenticeship and or qualifications Advanced Scaffolder for 5 years and have held a CISRS card for 10 years; the experience gained in these categories must be recent (within the last 5 years) and verifiable (others will be required as specified depends on Curriculum applied for).
- Be able to demonstrate recent supervisory or management experience.
- SMSTS Certificate or equivalent (or training will be provided; to be achieved with 6 months of start)
- Clear, confident and persuasive communicator at all levels of the organisation
- Extensive In depth knowledge of relevant Industry with extensive experience in the specific trade.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Well organised and efficient with the ability to manage own workload

**Desirable**
- Training for Carrying out Observation of Teaching and Learning on Teaching.
- NVQ Assessor Award D32/33 or equivalent
- NEBOSH Qualification
- Teaching qualifications
- Literacy and numeracy units of competency
- Management qualification (ILM level 3) or equivalent
- Proven ability to motivate, enthuse and develop positive attitudes in people and support them to overcome barriers to learning and progression maximising individual’s potential.

**Special Conditions/Other Requirements**:

- Available to work outside of normal working hours as required
- Available to travel with occasional overnight stays
- Ability to work from home on occasions or from remote locations
- Full clean driving license.
