Atlas Professionals are currently recruiting a Rig Buyer to commence employment as soon as possible for 3-6 months with one of our Aberdeen based clients no a full-time basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

- To ensure that Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders are processed in a professional manner and in accordance with Company procedures.
- Where Request for Quote (RFQ)/tenders are obtained from suppliers they shall be evaluated and compared for price and delivery terms.
- To identify possible cost savings within the Procure to Pay (P2P) process.
- To assist the Finance department on any invoice discrepancies and if required to resolve with vendor.
- Ensure that all relevant documentation associated to the purchase is filed and maintained according to Company procedures.
- Monitor and analysis purchasing data to make accurate buying decisions.
- Liaise with Technical, Operations and Warehouse personnel to ensure that repairs are forwarded to the appropriate vendor and expedited in a timely manner.
- Advise Rig Manager, Procurement Lead, and rig/unit of any potential delays in the provision of materials and services that could disrupt normal operations.
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
- Communicate daily with Supply Chain department, Rig and Operations Department.
- Adhere to and implement where applicable, Company quality, health, and environmental procedures, where applicable.
- Where appropriate, fully support any purchasing needs within the organisation.
- Upon request, participate in the on call rota for Supply Chain.
- Attendance and participation at meetings as required.
- Undertake other duties as defined by management.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:

- Hold a relevant degree or HNC/HND qualification or alternatively be qualified by relevant experience.
- Experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry.
- Experience of tendering and negotiating skills.
- Computer literate.
- Experience and proficient in ERP systems.
- Understanding of budgeting/cost control.
- Good communication, team work and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Experience in IFS (or similar purchasing systems) is preferred but not essential.
- Experience in similar role within a Supply Chain/Purchasing department.
- Computer literate (excel, reports etc).
- CIPS awareness.
- Good communication skills.
- Enthusiastic.
- Self Motivated.
- Ability to use their own initiative yet contribute to a small team.

**Job Types**: Permanent, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3-6 months

**Salary**: From £1.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Aberdeen: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
