**Oxfam Retail Charity Shop - VOLUNTEER - Book Department Assistant (over 18)**

In Oxfam Guisborough, we're dedicated to fighting poverty and inequality. Behind the scenes, a lot of work gets done to help us sell over thousands of goodies each week. Build your **CV**, **confidence**, and skills by **volunteering** now.

Sorting books, keeping organised & tidy, researching, valuing & pricing books, stocking the shelves, and displaying items on the shop floorIf you think you could help with some of this, then give volunteering a try. Some travel and lunch expenses can be covered too. (Please Note we are unable to take under 18’s at present as we are at capacity with a waiting list.)

If you have a love of books and reading, then this position is for you, sorting, categorising and valuing books for sale on the shop floor. Ever wanted to work in a Library then this is the next best thing

What we're looking for:

- **Willingness to learn new skills.**
- **Honesty, integrity, and reliability**
- **Love of books, and reading**
- **Identifying and researching the value of collectable books**
- **Opportunity to get involved in selling books online as well**

**The Role**:

- **Sorting all incoming book donations**
- **Researching and valuing books**
- **Pricing books**
- **Categorising books**
- **Displaying books for sale on the shop floor**

**Oxfam Guisborough - 1 Church Street, Guisborough, TS14 6HG**

Our shop complies with Covid-19 guidance, and we aim to keep everyone safe with thorough cleaning and welfare procedures. Masks and gloves are provided.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Volunteer

Expected hours: 4 - 8 per week
