**Permanent, Part Time 20 hours per week. Working days: Monday-Friday (Flexible) hours can be worked between 9:30-5 (flexible). Must include Monday, Tuesday and Friday.**
We operate a 24hr Emergency Call Out Service. Therefore, you will be required to cover standby out of hours. You will cover 9, 12-hour sessions over an 8-week period, which includes one weekend (which counts for 4 of the sessions). Each session runs from 7pm-7am. These standby sessions can fall on your non-working days. ALL Wardens cover the same number of standby sessions, regardless of contract type. This means that part time staff will cover the same number of sessions as full-time staff (9 over 8 weeks). This includes being scheduled for some bank holidays. One of our Key Performance Indicators is to respond within 30 minutes.
**Location**:Various sites, Bristol.
Are you caring, reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic? Are you looking for a job which is rewarding, with no two days the same, which lets you make a difference to older residents remaining independent in their homes?
We are looking for Mobile Wardens to join our friendly and supportive team where collaborative working is essential. We need people who are flexible with a customer focussed working style. We are looking for people who are great communicators, who are well organised and able to prioritise their workloads including managing emergency situations when they arise. You will enjoy working in a mutually supportive and collaborative team environment as well as being able to work well on your own initiative.
**What will you be doing?**
Approximately 1100 residents aged over 60 have homes in our sheltered housing across the city.
The Mobile Warden is a front-line role delivering our service to residents in their homes, working in sheltered housing sites across the city.
As a Mobile Warden, you will meet with residents regularly to identify and agree together any support needed to help residents maintain their independence in their homes. This could include support with health and mobility, financial well being and linking to care and support.
You will need to complete support plans and be able to use IT systems to enter and retrieve information.
You will work with various health, support organisations and care providers to ensure that we help residents maintain their independence and well-being
You will carry out regular well-being checks with residents each week, completing follow ups and referrals where needed and working closely with Housing Officers on tenancy management including supporting lettings and highlighting any site issues to help deliver residents priorities.
We provide a 24-hour alarm response service which you will help deliver, including lifting people (where it is safe to do so) who have fallen using a lifting cushion. The lifting service reduces calls for the emergency services and can improve outcomes for residents.
We operate an 8-week standby rota. You will be required to cover standby to be available to respond to alarm calls out of hours for 9, 12-hour sessions over an 8-week period, which includes one weekend (4 of the sessions). These standby sessions can fall on your non-working days.
**What we are looking for**
You must have:
- Excellent communication skills, with a good level of English (both written and spoken).
- Knowledge of IT systems and digital technology.
- The ability to respond flexibly to changing needs, and cope with sudden crises and change.
- Ability to learn processes, how to use alarm systems and lifting cushions.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team, to work without direct supervision, and be self-reliant.
- A valid driving license and your own car.
- Able to work shifts including evenings and weekends.
**Why Bristol City Council?**
