**Job Title: SEND Education Engagement Assistant**

**Sector: Education Reports to: Line Manager**
**Location: Kaleidoscope School, Porthill, Staffordshire**

**Hours: Monday - Friday (Term Time only + Training/Inset days as required)**

**Salary: £16,000.00 £18,500.00 Negotiable dependant on Experience**

**Company Information **Beechfield Education Ltd is founded by two managing directors who collectively have over 20 years-experience of working creatively to support vulnerable young people to raise their attainment and manage behaviours linked to attachment and trauma.

Staff will work alongside the Beechfield management and safeguarding policy to promote the welfare of young people.
Staff members are required to complete level 1 safeguarding and online training within 3 months of commencing work with Beechfield Education, alongside reading the policies in the induction policy. (In line with keeping children safe in
Education September 2021).
- A person with challenging behaviour experience, who would work 1:1 with a child within a small class.
- Must have a strong sense of resilience and a ‘tomorrow is a new day’ attitude.
- Should want to have fun, engage and motivate the young person to learn in a learner lead way.
- Must be able to work closely with the classroom lead to ensure consistent and manageable interventions and strategies are in place.
- Is familiar with behaviour interventions such as a 5-point scale and windows of tolerance.
- Can recognise and respond appropriately to non-verbal communication.
- Be able to follow through with boundaries in a child centred approach.
- Be creative with distraction and redirection techniques.
- Will engage the child in activities to meet their sensory needs, such as spinning, jumping, running and climbing.

The Education Engagement Assistant will be part of a team at Kaleidoscope School working collectively, to ensure we are providing a creative curriculum and providing the support required to all the children who attend Kaleidoscope School.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: £16,000.00-£18,500.00 per year

- Monday to Friday

- Newcastle under Lyme, ST5 0EZ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
