**Job Profile**:We are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator. If you’ve got drive, enthusiasm, personality, an enquiring mind, plus proven experience in a similar role, then we’re listening
This role is key to the company’s future development and success in delivering a continuous flow of new business and identifying future opportunities in both competitive tendering and design & build projects. This role will suit a Mechanical biased Estimatorwith the experience and knowledge to manage and oversee the M&E estimating department.
**_Key Responsibilities:_**
- This is a hands-on role with a responsibility to produce Mechanical Electrical tenders.
- Producing Detail Tender Bid's
- Producing Bill of Quantities
- Producing Technical documents in support of Tender Bid's
- Completion & Evaluation of JCT & NEC Tender contract documents
- Production of tender packs to flow down to sub-contractor's
- Management of JCT & NEC contracts throughout the project lifetime along-side the Project Manager for the project
- Manage and respond to tender enquiries
- Review enquiries and prepare take-offs from drawings
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quote
- The role requires a solid understanding of Mechanical & Electrical estimating and previous experience in the construction industry, ideally as an estimator in a similar role.
- Established background in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Project & Bid Management
- Understand and interpret detailed Technical Works Scope documentation Identify, quantify and mitigate areas of commercial risk
- The ability to plan workload for themselves with others to ensure delivery to client deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the internal and external clients
- Ideally you would have a working knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Updating of Senior Management Weekly on current tenders.
**_Skills Required:_**
- Proven experience in all aspects of Mechanical and Electrical estimating.
- Strong understanding of construction processes.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and multi-task.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Project.
- Experience of Simpro software would be an advantage, though not essential as training will be provided.
- Experience of Trimble estimating software would be an advantage, though not essential as training will be provided.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Dedicated, well-organised and reliable.
- Great attention to detail.
