**Exciting Leadership Opportunity in Prison Management**

Join our dynamic senior management team and support the Deputy Director, Director, and Heads of Functions in driving strategic priorities aligned with our core values. Play a vital role in elevating prisoner care standards while overseeing your function's performance according to Mitie Care and Custody requirements.

As a leader, you'll implement effective risk management initiatives and expertly handle complex operational incidents. Represent our prison in the community, building valuable stakeholder networks that extend beyond our walls. Collaborate with senior leadership to refine policies and procedures, while embracing the responsibilities of Duty Director and on-call duties.

**What you will do**:

- Maintaining a secure and safe prison.
- Making sure that we comply with PSI & Policy frameworks and our procedures conform with the latest Policy Frameworks.
- Maintaining high standards that we achieve positive outcomes in OSAG and IPCO audits
- Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, company policies and procedures and HMPPS standards, policies and procedures where applicable.
- This role will also undertake the role of Duty Director and Chair Adjudications.
- Support, supervise, motivate and monitor staff to ensure an effective service is delivered across the Prison.
- Lead on the delivery of a safe, secure and decent environment creating a ‘Rehabilitative & Restorative Culture' for staff and prisoners.

**Person Specification**
- **Essential experience includes operational experience in prisons at a senior level, previous relevant experience in a custodial or secure environment,**:

- Essential managerial experience leading teams of 5-15 employees and above.
- IT Experience such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with some experience of updating central data systems, are also required.
- Technical knowledge of relevant prison legislation, policies, standards, inspection and audit processes, and knowledge of the wider criminal justice system. Silver command training, successful completion of incident and hostage management training, and adjudication training are also preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include qualifications or relevant experience equivalent to Level 3 or above, such as A levels, Advanced Apprenticeships, AS Levels, International Baccalaureate diplomas, Level 3 Awards, Certificates and Diplomas, and Level 3 NVQ accreditations.
