Residential Childcare Skills Coach/Trainer
Location: West Midlands
Pertemps Work Based Learning are currently working with a great not-for-profit training provider based within the West Midlands. Rated by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’, and ‘Excellent’ by apprenticeship employers, this is a fantastic opportunity for those with experienceworking within Residential Care.
We are looking for a Residential Childcare Skills Coach/Apprenticeship Trainer on a remote basis, with some travel required for learner observation. The Skills Coach will be delivering Levels 3, 4 & 5 to individuals achieving their apprenticeship qualifications.
- Salary of up to £32,000
- Remote Working, with some travel required for learner observation.
- 28 Days + Bank Holidays

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Residential Childcare Skills Coach/Apprenticeship Trainer
- Deliver engaging learning programmes in order to support learners towards their Apprenticeship Qualification in Residential Childcare.
- Use and develop a wide range of resources and techniques, tailored to learners’ individual needs.
- Observe and review work produced by learners to ensure it is of the appropriate standard to reflect the learner's qualification and meet the needs of the qualification.
- Provide insightful, constructive, and informative feedback to help the learner maximise their potential.
- Proactively monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality and effectiveness of own workload and working practices to ensure deadlines and targets are met and that the learner has an outstanding experience.
- Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress
- Visit and observe learners in their place of work to support and gather evidence
Skills, Experience and Qualifications for the Residential Childcare Skills Coach/Apprenticeship Skills Coach
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent.
- Vocational experience, ideally at Supervisory level, within a Residential Childcare setting.
- Assessor’s Award (A1, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent)
- Teaching Qualification is desirable, but not required (PTLLS, AET, PGCE or equivalent).
- Experience in delivering training and coaching sessions to learners
- Full UK Driving Licence, with access to own vehicle and a flexibility to travel.
