**Assistant Civil Estimator - Environment**

**What you will be doing**:
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Civil Estimator to join the team at Galliford Try.

As an Assistant Civil Estimator, you will support the pre-construction activities for our current Framework Portfolio. The role will cover our South West Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Plymouth area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. At Galliford Try, we are committed to flexible and agile working and other work locations within the South West Water Region may be considered.

You will play a pivotal role within the Pre-Construction Team; it will be your responsibility to support the wider pre-construction team with downloading enquiry information and schedule quantities as required, updating, and maintaining the enquiry database system.

Day-to-day, you will support the Estimating team with the successful preparation and development of submissions for both competitive tenders and negotiations for a range of projects.

Your role forms an essential link in the tender process, involving effective liaison and communication between the key stakeholders. You’ll be engaging with Supply Chain Specialists, participating at Pre-Tender meetings and supporting the team with identifying and managing risk. Part of your role will involve effective liaison with procurement teams in the selection of appropriate Companies from whom quotations should be sought.

Part of your role will be to carry out general tasks associated with tender preparation and submission. You will play a primary role in assisting with the measurement and pricing of bills of quantities and the cost planning of projects from initial feasibility to contract.

**About You**:
Alongside your excellent numerical and analytical skills, we’re seeking individuals with an equivalent of Level 3 NVQ or Certificate Level qualification.

you’ll be fully conversant in the use of Microsoft suite of packages, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

In this role, we’d like you to have a working knowledge of one functional area through job experience or training and previous relevant business experience or transferable skills gained in other areas.
