**About Us**:
**Quality Engineer** - The Role:
- Responsible for fulfilling the role of Quality engineer in this hands-on position. Ensure the quality of the parts produced meet all customer expectations; quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found
- Maintain the most recent interpretations of the quality system requirements and therefore ensure that documented practices meet the true interpretation of the quality management system standards
- Working within small quality team of five and reporting directly to the Quality & EHS Manager
**Quality Engineer** - Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake electrical and mechanical inspection of finished parts in line with internal and external customer specifications
- Carry out qualification testing in line with internal specifications
- Maintain records of inspection and testing in line with specifications
- Assist in the measurement and analysis of customer returns and internal rejects / failures
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of quality requirements for customers in regard to PPAP, FMEA, control plans and flow diagrams
- In-line gauge and process capability
- Assist with quality planning / design process programmes, using statistical techniques
- Understanding of engineering specifications, tolerances and drawings
- Assist in the understanding of and implementation of Quality Systems and Quality Standards, in particular the business’ intent to progress to TS16949
- To deputise for the Quality and EHS Manager for quality aspects as required
**Quality Engineer** - You:
- Qualified to HND / HNC level, with previous experience of working in Quality Management
- Experience of working with Electrical and Electronic components, in a manufacturing environment
- Five - seven years’ experience of working in an environment using certified management systems (e.g. TS 16949, ISO)
- Exceptional mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical processes)
- Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Previous work experience in an organization that supplied large OEM’s
- Customer quality assurance experience
- Previous audit experience
- Multi-skilled into other engineering disciplines
- Ability to understand and follow technical documents, circuit diagrams and schematics
- Fully PC literate. Including standard office software
- The job holder will be self-disciplined and conscientious, and will be entrusted to ensure that quality issues are resolved as quickly and expeditiously as possible
- He /she will be comfortable and confident in working within a challenging environment, an in a business that is seeking stretch growth targets in a highly competitive global market
- The individual will need to be assertive and results oriented, as well as being willing to assist in routine activity within the various manufacturing areas
- The individual will feel confident in dealing with customers direct and advising on a broad range of quality issues
