The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.
MOPAC’s Corporate Services Directorate drives the delivery of key functions such as finance, shared services, information governance and contracts, procurement, and grants within the organisation’s overall purpose of making London a safer city for all.
As the Head of Planning, Performance and Risk you will lead the development and implementation of MOPAC’s strategic business planning, performance and corporate risk management, and assuring delivery of outcomes in support of MOPAC’s strategic priorities.
The role leads the corporate business planning function and framework, and developing MOPAC’s performance management framework, ensuring high quality, timely reporting through Directorate Leadership Teams and Board.
Other key responsibilities of the role are:
- Leading on MOPAC’s corporate risk management framework and the corporate risk register, reporting to MOPAC Board and the Joint Audit Panel on areas of concern.
- Producing the Annual Governance Statement and the MOPAC Governance Improvement Plan, reporting to MOPAC Board and the Joint Audit Panel on effectiveness of MOPAC’s internal governance.
- Leadership of the Programme Management Office and the Policy and Projects Team ensuring effective and agile deployment of flexible resource across MOPAC to business need.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A passion for driving change for Londoners.
- Experience in a similar cross-functional role, or in project portfolio or programme management, preferably in a public sector organisation.
- Experience of developing and managing the implementation of planning, performance and evaluation processes, and of developing performance indicators and results frameworks.
- Creative thinking and independent judgment

**Where are we based?**
We have moved to a hybrid working model with office hubs at Union Street (near London Bridge) and Newlands Park (postcode SE26). On average, staff will work 1-2 days a week from an Office Hub, which may differ depending on the role requirements.
