We have an opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Assistant in the Cellular Pathology/Andrology department

We require a conscientious and enthusiastic individual to join the laboratory team.

A good telephone manner and the ability to speak clearly to patients delivering specimens is essential.

The duties will be varied and vital to the successful working of the department. Training in all aspects of the role will be given and you will work under supervision.

This post would suit someone methodical and with attention to detail who can work well within a small team. The ability to adapt to any changes within the role is desirable.

**Duties will include**: collecting, checking and labelling of specimens, filing, and some data input duties. You will also undertake some specimen preparation and general laboratory duties.

- Booking In
- Inputting patient data onto the in-house WinPath computer for both Diagnostic cytology and Andrology services.
- Referrals & Appointments
- Co-ordinate referrals, invitations, allocation of appointments for fertility and post vasectomy service using ICE Ordercomms, Microsoft Word, Excel, Medway & Evolve.
- Appointments
- Ensure appointment system is maintained (electronically and hardcopy filing), non-compliances are recorded and escalated/actioned using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Technical
- Assisting staff in laboratory prep duties.
