The Network & Communications Manager will lead and manage the team who provide service to the ships, shores, and cloud services, as part of the wider Technology Infrastructure & Operations department.

The manager's role is to co-ordinate the team, resources and service providers to ensure all forms of connectivity enabling the business and fleet are always-on, always secure, always optimised, and continuously improved. The manager will ensure they andtheir team have strong collaborative relationships with local and global colleagues and will contribute at a global and a local level.

**Key Responibilites**:

- Adheres to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, Audit Procedures and any control related responsibility for financial data entered, stored, or reported via business systems within employee's control.
- Undertakes ad hoc duties as required.
- Work with the Portfolio Delivery and Service Management teams to provide effective Service Transition of new or modified services into Production.
- Proactive management of the networks (LAN, WAN, WiFi, Mobile and Satellite) in shore side offices, on board the ships, and into cloud services, ensuring a suitable level of performance, security and contingency.
- Management and enhancement of all firewalls, switching, routing, and WiFi technologies, including intrusion detection and protection systems.
- Proactively manage capacity as it relates to all forms of network technology, working with the Capacity Manager to ensure capacity is visible to all interested parties.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues in Architecture, Digital development, Security, and other Technology departments to ensure operational realities are considered throughout the technical lifecycle.
- Proven experience operating and troubleshooting large scale IT Network systems.
- Experience of line managing team of networking specialists and specialist 3rd parties.
- Awareness of Information Security issues, threats and countermeasures.
- Experience managing cloud connectivity inc. SAAS, IAAS, PAAS.
- Expertise in switching, routing, WiFi, and related technologies, with HPE Aruba and Cisco experience an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience of firewall technologies, with Palo Alto experience an advantage.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
- Strong experience with technical documentation writing and maintenance.
- Experience of structured cabling (fibre and copper) and data centre design and operations
