Groundcare Landscape Services Ltd is a small but dynamic company providing high standard gardening services to prestigious residential properties in southeast and central London. We currently have a gardener position available in our team and we would bekeen to hear from you if you fit the job description below.

We pay a competitive hourly rate with room to increase. Hours are 7am - 3pm with a half hour, paid lunch break included. We offer 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

This is an enjoyable outdoor job, but it is a physically demanding role, and you must be able to carry out the various gardening tasks to assist in the maintenance of the gardens.

**Key responsibilities and duties**

To undertake a comprehensive range of gardening tasks to a high standard, including but not limited to:

- Planting and pruning
- Grass cutting, edging, hoeing and general bed maintenance
- Hedge, shrub, small tree and topiary maintenance
- Garden pest, disease and disorder control
- Undertake routine maintenance of equipment in accordance with recognised procedures
- Having a working knowledge of ornamental plants
- To provide cover for other gardening staff due to holiday or absence
- To adhere to all relevant policies such as those relating to health and safety
- To undertake other duties within the broad scope of the job as may be requested by the Director

**Person Specification**
- Essential_
- Full, clean driving licence
- One-year practical experience of gardening in a similar setting as a paid gardener
- Good knowledge of ornamental plants and lawns
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Pride in work
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Desirable_
- Work Based Horticulture Certificate L1 or 2, RHS L1 or 2 or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Spraying certificate
- Hours of work:_
- Monday - Friday 7am to 3pm (we pay half hour lunch break_)_
