£18.84-£22.30 (dependant on experience)
Our client in the education sector is looking for an experienced and organised Payroll & Pensions Manager to facilitate the smooth running of their Pensions/Payroll function. To manage the Pensions/Payroll team and ensure that all College employees are paidin an accurate and timely manner.
Initially this role is temporary for 3 months but with the potential of the role becoming permanent, based on performance.
Essential experience:
- Previous experience as a Payroll Manager
- Experience of working within education or a local authority
- Knowledge and understanding of pensions (specifically LGPS and TPS) as well as the processing of this.
Duties will include:
- To manage Payroll & Pension Team
- To ensure that the Pensions/Payroll production and deductions conform to all relevant legislation and statutory rates, including end of year procedures including P45s, P60s
- To calculate redundancy costs for employees
- To acquire any pension calculations from the relevant authorities
- To develop and maintain a comprehensive set of procedural guidelines for internal use
- To oversee the administration of the Colleges Pension funds and liaise with their representatives. To ensure that various pension forms are completed in a timely manner.
- To ensure that Pensions/Payroll queries are processed promptly.
- To keep up to date with legislative organisational requirements ensuring that relevant processes, procedures and documentation are amended.
- To ensure confidentiality at all times and that the concepts of the Data Protection Act are strictly adhered to.
- Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults
- Understand and comply with Safeguarding legislation and ensure that best practice is embedded in all working practices as required.
- Commitment to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, ensuring that this commitment is demonstrated in all aspects of the role as appropriate
- Be aware of, and comply with, legislations/competence standards relevant to the work of the Directorate
- Understand and comply with all College policies, including the Policy to promote Equality of Opportunity
- Assist as required during examination and enrolment periods.
- Be conversant with Health & Safety and Safeguarding requirements
- Participate in the Staff Learning & Development, Review and Appraisal scheme
- Undertake such duties and/or hours of work as may reasonably be required of you. Commensurate with your grade and general level of responsibility, at your main place of work or at any other establishment for which the College provides services
Computers & Technology
- Be conversant with, and use, information technology as required to carry out the duties of the post
- To be affective in the use of the computerised payroll system inputting information as required
- Assist in the maintenance of the payroll software
- Run reports from computerised systems as required
- To be affective in the use of other computerised system
