We are seeking one full time member of staff to join our family company due to the upcoming retirement of long standing member of staff.
The role will potentially be primarily based in the mortuary environment working with the deceased preparation along with general funeral duties as listed in this advert.
This vacancies necessitates people of smart appearance with good communication skills as they will be dealing with and assisting bereaved families, funeral directors, hospitals, nursing homes and crematoria.
Applicants need not have prior experience of the role, but would be preferred, along with a good knowledge of the West Midlands road network.
We are a long established funeral business, with branches in Cradley Heath, Halesowen, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Worcestershire. With recent growth and planned future business growth we require a member to join our team to assist the directors of the business with the day to day funerals, along with general funeral assistant duties.
**Main roles and duties will include;**
- Preparation and care of deceased in mortuary environment.
- Preparation of coffins and caskets.
- Bearing and driving on funeral duties.
- Transfer of deceased from place of death to our premises and between our branches.
- Part of out of hours on call rota (one week in four)
- Responsible for upkeep, tidiness and cleanliness of yard and garages areas.
- Responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of large fleet of hearse’s, limousines, private ambulances and cars.
- Our service must, at all times, be first class and the care and consideration of our clients’ needs and requirements is of the utmost importance.
- Other general duties.
We therefore require a person with a positive attitude, with plenty of initiative to learn the procedures and quickly become a valuable member of a busy close knit working team.
Applicants must be willing to build relationships within the communities around our funeral homes.
Salary is dependant on experience, annual leave and pension also negotiable.
As this role requires successful applicant to be part of the on call rota team, they must live within a 30 minute travel time of B64 5AB at peak traffic times to fulfil our call out turn around time.
The applicant must hold a full driving licence and be confident with driving large funeral vehicles.
**Uniform and working clothes are provided.**
**Contracted hours of work: 9.00am - 5.00pm.**
**DBS check to be undertaken**
**You will be required to join the on call out of hours’ rota with occasional weekend funerals.**
**Salary**: £23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
