Salary : £34,632 per annum + Van + Fuel + Coffee Card + £500 Benefits Per Year + Up to 10% Annual Bonus

Our client has a fantastic permanent opportunity for a field-based Surveyor to join their Empty Homes team.
You’ll be responsible for surveying domestic properties prior to customers vacating the property, you will identify internal and external repair requirements, subsidence, structural, and other building-related defects. You will also be required to accuratelydiagnose and make recommendations on stock condition. You will liaise with customers and update them on any aspects they are responsible for. You will also supervise engineers and on-site.
You’ll need to have a full, clean driving licence and be willing to work 40 hours per week. This role requires flexibility to cover Bristol and South Gloucestershire so will involve travel to these areas to suit programme of works. You must also be preparedto join the out-of-hours escalation on a rota basis.
Due to the nature of the role, a DBS check will be completed for the successful applicant.
As an Empty Homes Surveyor you will:
- Supervise engineers and provide technical expertise & recommendations
- Undertake leaving well/pre-vacation visits with customers, where you will schedule any works required, discuss and agree on any customer repair responsibilities with the customer or potential recharges.
- You will undertake mutual exchange inspections and ensure properties are being exchanged in a fit, suitable and safe state
- You will pre-order bespoke materials that may be required, to reduce waiting times
- Keep up to date with changes in relevant policy and legislation to ensure y=their services comply with appropriate regulations
- Communicate effectively with customers, translating technical information as required
- Assist with data collection and provide insights into internal and/or external customer needs, to help improve asset management, service delivery and implement best practice
- To have a real focus on achieving high levels of customer advocacy and problem resolution.
The person they seek must:
- Have proven experience of working in a similar role
- Have technical expertise and knowledge of legislation to ensure that the works reflect their organisation’s excellent service and commitment to quality
- Bring a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service
- Have a flexible approach and willingness to go the extra mile
- Be IT literate and comfortable using various systems and Microsoft Office packages, (including Excel)
- Possess excellent communication and report writing skills with the ability to build relationships
- Be a good listener and problem solver
- Have a full UK driving licence
- Strive to be an excellent ambassador for them.
Previous experience could be within roles such as Building Surveyor, Assistant Building Surveyor, Repairs Surveyor, Housing Surveyor, Asset Surveyor and/or Asset Management Surveyor.
