Location**:Woking
**Shift**: Days - 40 hours per week
The Principal Agile Lead will work across the Electronic Systems & Controls department to enhance & refine the implementation of agile principles & tools.
The primary objective of this key strategic role is to evolve Electronic Systems & Controls into high performing agile teams, delivering multiple projects & features concurrently, which both meets customer requirements and is ‘right first time’ into platformreleases.
**The duties and responsibilities of the Principal Agile Lead:
- Complete a Gap Analysis of the current state in the company versus Agile best practice & recommend opportunities to improve.
- Create & deliver training in Agile principles & methodologies for all stakeholders & agile teams.
- Lead and coach agile team members to develop in their roles, helping to embed Agile behaviours & ways of working into the culture of ES&C.
- Facilitate key Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums & Retrospectives, helping to create great team dynamics as well as effective delivery.
- Enable teams to successfully self-organise and work with ES&C Vehicle Line Integration Managers and other stakeholders to ensure priorities are clear & attainable goals are set and delivered.
- Work with senior stakeholders to define appropriate metrics to assess progress & efficiency of software development.
- Work together with the Principal Engineer Software Development Processes & Tools to explore opportunities for Agile Transformation across this Automotive business.
**The ideal experience for the Principal Agile Lead:
Experience of agile delivery in a CE/CI/CD environment, having applied Agile/XP/Scrum practices, ideally in an automotive business.
**Essential Functional / Technical Skills**
- Knowledge of advanced enterprise Agile methods (E.g., DevOps, Scaled Agile (SAFe, Scrum of Scrums, Kanban), Agile tools such as Jira, Trello, Kanban Chi)
- Significant experience of facilitating all scrum ceremonies
- Experience with the effective use of JIRA & Confluence
- Ideally been part of an agile transformation in a business, with an understanding of how to manage the change - ensuring full team engagement & continued effectiveness throughout.
- Experienced in generating the metrics needed to monitor & improve efficiency & output & using data to drive decisions.
- Used to working at all levels & across all functions in the business
- Ideally experience of working with distributed teams (outsourced & internal UK/Spain)
- Agile practitioner certification an advantage (PSM, CSM, etc.)
- Able to show leadership in addressing any cultural changes required; motivate teams in Agile ways of working & to coach teams to be self-organising & constant velocity.
- Able to identify & manage all stakeholders in the agile process, securing management support where required.
- Collaborative, working effectively across teams & departments to deliver on time & to quality.
- Long term view on enhancing customer value by enabling robust delivery of innovative features
- Self-motivated, proactive in anticipating & addressing potential problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to communicate with individuals from both technical and non-technical backgrounds and present content in a meaningful, clear and concise way
