**Overview**
We are seeking an experienced SEND tutor who is fluent in British Sign Language (BSL) to work 1:1 with a profoundly deaf young adult (aged 20) with mild to moderate learning needs. This student is motivated to progress in life and education, and requires personalised, face-to-face support to engage with her learning and life skills.

This is a meaningful opportunity to support a highly vulnerable learner in building her independence, confidence, and qualifications.

**Tutor Profile**
- Proven experience teaching students with SEND, ideally those with hearing impairment or communication difficulties
- Strong BSL communication skills (Level 3 or above preferred)
- Understanding of emotional regulation strategies and neurodiverse learning styles
- Enhanced DBS (on the update service)
- Ability to work flexibly and travel within the **Medway area (ME3)**

**Role Details**
- **Location**: Medway (in-person, safe and agreed setting)
- **Delivery**: 1:1, face-to-face sessions
- **Start Date**: ASAP
- **Hours**: 15 hours per week
- **Pay**: £40 per hour
- **Contract Duration**: Ongoing, until education placement or transition achieved
- **Subjects**: Functional Maths, Literacy support, Life Skills, and Art & Design Level 2 (Cambridge Online)

**About the Student**
- Profoundly deaf; communicates via BSL
- Mild to moderate learning difficulties
- Currently not in education - highly motivated to learn and gain independence
- Needs support with money management, emotional regulation, and expressive communication
- Interested in Art and Design as a career path
- Sessions must include consistent comprehension checks and accessible content delivery
