Production Planner

Experienced Production Planner / Planning Manager required in Pontypridd, near Cardiff, South Wales.

This manufacturing site makes environmental improvement products, part of a global group. It's a growing business, offering excellent prospects.
Monday to Friday, lunchtime finish Fridays.

The Production Planner / Planning Manager will:

- Coordinate the production of customer demand / forecast through to order delivery to the global retail and professional customer base.
- Work closely with the Production Manager and Purchasing Manager to ensure the correct labour, machine capacity and materials are in place to hit the required schedule.
- Oversee and maintain functional setups and processes in the ERP system related to Products, Production and Planning.
- Provide analysis reports to the management team to support business improvements.
- Coordinate all aspects of H&S on the local site with the support of the Management team.
- Always ensuring the facility is a safe working environment for all employees complying with all legal & regulatory requirements.

Production Planner / Planning Manager essential requirements:

- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software & MRP systems (current system DAX)
- Good standard of Education - minimum ‘A’ level standard or equivalent - Degree preferred
- Proven ability of scheduling / planning in a fast moving & constantly changing environment
- Formal H&S qualification IOSH & experience of driving continuous improvement to site health & safety
- Good people management skills gained in a production / manufacturing environment
- Good standard of written English & Math’s
- Good understanding / experience of continuous improvement tools & techniques
- Production Planning Management experience in a similar industry sector. Packaging / FMCG. Minimum 2 years

Planning Manager Desirable:

- Substantil Production Planning Management experience in a ‘lean culture’ working environment
- IOSH / NEBOSH Qualification
- Qualification to NVQ level 4/6 in a production / planning management qualification - preferred Degree in business management / production
- A professional qualification in production planning / scheduling
- Wide experience of negotiation within a multi complex supplier / customer base.
