School of Hard Knocks works with unemployed adults and school children at risk of exclusion to give participants the tools to improve their lives.
This is principally achieved by teaching a strong set of values, attitudes, behaviours and skills.
Physical activity and class-based session are combined to teach, demonstrate and impress the key messages.

**Job Summary**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan and deliver rugby sessions in line with the SOHK rugby curriculum
Coach rugby for the development of the 5Cs - Confidence, Control, Communication, Commitment and Cohesion
- Coordination and group facilitation/coaching roles, as well as mentoring participants
- Working with teachers and school staff, ensuring their satisfaction
- Working with SOHK on monitoring and evaluation, report writing, admin and data input - making sure all records are accurate and timely
- Using your creativity to drive ever-improving standards of delivery; using self and peer-review systems to improve your ability to help participants
- Reporting on progress against targets, capturing monitoring and evaluation data and assisting the charity’s communications and fundraising teams by providing case studies, testimonials and media from courses
**Desirable Skills & Experience**
- Previous successful delivery of sports coaching, training or schools programmes, preferably with hard-to-reach groups
- Experience in developing/motivating children
RFU Level 2/ERCA (UKCC Rugby Level 2) (minimum) or equivalent coaching qualification in another sport
- Hold an additional relevant qualification in this area
- First class communication and facilitation skills
- Passion for sport and social inclusion
- Excellent project management and administration skills
- Demonstrable ability to steward partnerships or client relationships
- Ability to travel to the chosen schools each week

- You will be someone who naturally sets high standards and will ensure that course targets are met and exceeded
- You will have a growth mindset, always ready to accept new challenges
**Salary & Benefits**
- This role will initially be paid on a freelance basis at £100 per day
- This role will provide an opportunity to work 4 days a week at present
- This will be for a minimum of 30 delivery days per school, falling on the same day per week during term-time
- There will likely be additional paid days to attend staff training
- You will be invited to attend all of SOHK's regular events throughout the year, including drinks and dinners as a guest
**Application Process**
This is currently a rolling recruitment process, with no deadline. We are however, keen to appoint someone well before the September start so that may attend staff training with London Team.
Interviews will be arranged in the London area at mutual convenience
