**Shortlisting Date: Monday 27th October 2025**

We have a great opportunity to welcome someone into our team who is looking for the next step in their payroll career. As a Payroll & Pensions Advisor you will provide a critical service back to our organisation, supporting all things pay related during an employee's journey within the council and our schools.
We strive to make our customers remuneration a positive experience ensuring they are looked after from the minute they join. Monitoring pay for new starters and ensuring they are set up in line with pension and HMRC regulations.
Our payroll team is lucky to have a complement of experienced officers & assistants who have acquired knowledge of the local authority and payroll alike over many years, working alongside newer members of the team who bring fresh ideas and different approaches to activity.
The team also work collaboratively with colleagues across HR to improve the efficiency of both services and support offered to council and school employees, and we hope you feel valued and supported in your role within the wider HR & Payroll service.
We offer flexible working with many of the team undertaking a hybrid approach by working both at home and in the office.
This area of work is continually developing and will offer you a chance to lead on various projects and help us with implementing new legislation.
