**Job Description** Are you ready to lead a team of talented engineers and shape the future of rail infrastructure?**

We are searching for a Principal Signalling Design Verifier/ Checker to join us here at AECOM working within the Rail, Structures and Ground Engineering Team.

Our team provides technical leadership of project throughout the infrastructure lifecycle from feasibility, preliminary and detailed design stages. Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include custodians of the UK’s Rail network, numerous local authorities, and major contractors. Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression.

**Here’s what you’ll do**:

- ** Collaborate**: Provide design delivery support in day-to-day duties throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion, including
- ** Innovate**:Liaising and meeting with others including clients, stakeholders, and external railway contractors. Undertake the technical liaison with other team disciplines, departments and externally
- ** Thrive**: Mentoring, support, guidance, and development of junior staff

**Qualifications**
- Holds a current IRSE Signalling Principles Designer Licence (1.1.550) and Signalling Design Verifier Licence (1.1.160).
- Substantial mainline signalling design experience, including knowledge of UK railway standards, design processes and procedures at outline (scheme development) and/or detailed design stages of delivery.
- Design verification experience across a range of project phases (outline, detail design), systems and technologies.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to the delivery of signalling designs to the highest standards of safety and quality along with a clear understanding of risk assessment / hazard identification, management, and mitigation throughout the signalling design process.
- Preferred individuals in possession of a PTS (Personal Track Safety) certificate.
