**Client Details**

A well established Freight Forwarder with a worldwide reach. They offer a complete range of services, including, but not limited to, Air, Road, Sea, FCL, LCL, Customs and warehouse services.

**Description**

The Ocean Freight Supervisor will be managing the team and is based in Aylesford and is tasked with:

- Leading both an Import Supervisor and an Export Supervisor to ensure that their staff operates at optional levels to get shipments processed within agreed service level agreements
- Ensure that staff are guided and mentored to give excellent customer service by communicating with clients through the process and following up on all pending matters
- Manage expenses according to budget constraints
- Ensure that rules, procedures and service level agreements are communicated to all staff
- Manage all administrative functions
- Coach, train and mentor your direct reports
- Interview and recruit any new staff
- Close collaboration with European offices and Global Head of Ocean Freight to drive EMEA procurement activities e. g. achieve agreed volume targets
- Continuously drive re-procurement and improvement of existing larger customers
- Actively promote ocean freight product within the sales community in Europe
- Support our commercial
- Develop LCL consolidation offering
- Develop and support key product initiatives
- Engage closely in tenders particularly on larger opportunities
- Create/drive regional ocean community
- Represent region EMEA in global ocean community and global ocean activities

**Profile**

In order to be considered for the Ocean Freight Supervisor role, you should have:

- An excellent understanding of Ocean Freight practices
- You must have both Imports and Exports experience from within a Shipping or Freight company
- Have worked in a Supervisor or Manager role within the Freight / Shipping industry
- Be able to manage your time accordingly
