**Summary**:

Established in April 2016, the Defence Nuclear Organisation (DNO) was set up to coordinate all aspects of nuclear business within the MOD; responsible for all submarines (from buying them through to disposal when they reach the end of their life), nuclear warheads, skills, related infrastructure and day-to-day nuclear policy. DNO consists of the people, equipment and infrastructure required to successfully deter the most utmost threats to our national security and way of life.
Within DNO, the Warhead Directorate leads the UK nuclear warhead programme which provides a stockpile of reliable, safe and effective nuclear warheads to support the UK’s strategic nuclear deterrent now and in the future.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
**Job description**:
The Warhead Portfolio Management Team is looking to recruit enthusiastic individuals for two B2/ grade 7 roles which between them will lead on portfolio level, benefits, requirements, change control, business case assurance and program initiation.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we establish the Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) whilst we build and develop the team to meet the complex challenges of our mission to supply and maintain safe and capable nuclear warheads to the Royal Navy today and in the future.
You will have opportunities to work with Senior management as well as a diverse range of stakeholders, internal, pan Government and in industry;
You will develop delivery experience in a major, complex and multi-million-pound, multi-organisational programme; and experience working with our main supplier AWE;
You will develop a level of technical understanding of the areas operational programme activities and challenges and their financial and commercial implications.
You will develop and improve your skills in the practices of P3M, Project Controls and leadership.
Relevant accredited Project Delivery professional training has been funded to support development requirements.

**Responsibilities**:
The two B2 roles between them will cover the following areas. There is flexibility on how the areas are split between the two roles.
Benefits Management
- The key responsibility of this role is to be the primary focal point and intelligent customer for benefits management across the Warhead Directorate and AWE (WHD’s lead delivery partner), supporting WHD senior leadership at portfolio governance reviews and leading on the development of policies, strategies, processes, guidance, systems, benefits communications and continuous improvement to support the design, implementation and ongoing management and maintenance of benefits management practices across the enterprise. The post holder is responsible for management of 1xSEO.
Requirements Management
- Lead portfolio requirements management in DNO WHD, Manage 1xSEO so collectively the team can ensure that a clear and unambiguous statement of the Directorate's delivery requirements exist; that these remain aligned with the capability requirements; and that they are understood by all stakeholders. To ensure that a robust and evidential “golden thread” link exists between the capability requirements through to the commensurate statements of work.
Change Control:
- Lead for portfolio change control in DNO Warhead. Manage and develop 1xSEO, 2xHEO and 1xEO so collectively the team can act as gate keeper for the portfolio change control process. Mature the change control process at programmatic and portfolio level to provide a best-in-class service. Develop the change control reporting process to ensure the senior management can understand the level of change within the portfolio and the risk (threat and opportunities) that brings.
Business Case Assurance:
- Develop and implement a joint (with AWE) business case assurance process from assurance initiation, selection of assurance team, delivery of assurance, oversight/ writing of joint assurance report and delivery to SRO.
