This role is primarily responsible for assisting the design team in providing engineering solutions that exceed both internal and external customer standards in the design and development of bespoke electrical power & control systems. It involves provisionof the design, documentation and technical reports required to fulfil the design objectives consistent with the requirements and standards as set out in the customer’s specification.

Key Responisbilities
- Provide technical leadership driving Power & Control design solutions.
- Undertake 'Lead Engineer’ assignments with responsibility for the overall integrity of design for power and control solutions to fulfil the required customer specifications.
- Work alongside the Project Manager to ensure engineering activity is prioritised commensurate with project requirements.
- Assist the Chief Design Authority in leading internal and external design reviews.
- Design and develop all solutions in line with customer requirements and in accordance with the latest company processes and procedures.
- Perform all tasks in such a way as to maintain compliance with the company’s procedures.
- Involved in the transition of projects from development to production.
- Maintain strong communications with other groups across the business so as to maintain a professional image and develop confidence in our engineering abilities.

Skills Required
- Ideally, you will be Degree Quaified within Electronics or Electronics Engineering
- You must be eligible for security clearance
- Have previous experience in designing power and control products detailed in the knowledge section.
- Experience of technical document preparation including hardware description documents, test strategies and procedures.
- Digital design (Combinatorial logic, GAL and Processor experience).
- Analogue Design (Filters, Op-amps and measurement).
- Demonstrable understanding of Single and Three Phase power principles.
- Demonstrable understanding of at least two of the following schemes (all at power levels between 100W and 10kW):

- Understanding of motor control concepts and topologies (control systems).
- Understanding of EMC Best Practice.
- PCB Layout skills and experience (ideally using Altium).
