**Key Responsibilities**
- Own and oversee the debtors ledger, providing regular reports to management and maintaining DSO targets.
- Proactively manage customer accounts, resolve queries, and maximize cash collection while minimizing outstanding debt.
- Lead and mentor one direct report (Credit Controller), reviewing performance and allocating tasks.
- Continuously review aged debtors, escalate issues, manage legal proceedings, and review bad debt provisions.
- Liaise with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service) to resolve disputes and facilitate collections.
- Produce weekly/monthly reports on aged debt, cash forecasts, KPIs, and top 10 debt commentary for the board.
- Review customer credit facilities, ensure alignment with payment terms, perform reconciliations, and handle cash allocation.
- Embrace continuous improvement, make process recommendations, and support year-end activities.

**Essential Requirements**
- Extensive experience in credit control, account reconciliation, debt collection methods, cash allocation, and customer relationship managementideally from a corporate finance environment.
- Strong leadership skills to train, develop, and lead junior staff by example.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables essential); Power BI, Sage 200, and Insphire desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a proactive, enthusiastic approach.
