Job description
We are looking for a highly organised, confident individual who is excited working in a fast-paced, high profile environment and passionate about addressing homelessness in across Greater Manchester. Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity (GMMC) is looking forward to new period of growth and expansion, and you will be central to that development as we look to grow our content, reach, and coverage.
You will pay a crucial role in maximising our messaging, supporting the development of our digital communications strategy, with responsibility for implementing GMMC communications and marketing strategies. You will write engaging content to enable an even greater reach of our campaigns, events and messages, while maintaining a strong and integrated presence across our social media channels and website. As a member of a small team, you will also support wider external communications for GMMC, including the drafting of press releases and working with the team administrator to ensure timely response to all press and media enquiries.

**_ Digital Content_**
- Contribute to the development of a responsive and evolving digital communications strategy focussed on maximising fundraising targets and increasing supporter engagement
- Develop and deliver supporter journeys, integrated fundraising and campaigns plans, and digital fundraising appeals
- Support the development and delivery of co-designed campaigns plans, leading on coordination of actions and the production of social media assets, reports and wider materials to support campaign objectives
- Update and manage content on our website - using Craft CMS, to ensure accessibility and user experience are considered at all times
- Lead on planning and delivery of a calendar of communications focussed on meeting key fundraising targets, engaging new supporters, and building relations with existing supporters
- Provide regular reporting on the effectiveness of the digital communications strategy to inform long term plans and organisational learning
**_Social Media_**
- Input into design and lead delivery of a social media strategy to raise GMMC’s profile across Greater Manchester and the North West and to support fundraising and campaign targets
- Responsively adapt and adjust social media content and targets as necessary according to real time feedback and results
- Write supporter facing content to generate public engagement on our platforms, prioritising growth on Instagram alongside engagement with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
- Ensure all GMMC content is suited to our target audiences, help meet our charitable objectives, and are rooted within our organisational values
- Maintain understanding of trends in social media to ensure GMMC engagement is up to date, and maximising all opportunities which can support growth in brand presence, supporter base, and reputation
- Manage paid social media ads (as required during campaigns) and support GMMC access to Google ad grants
**_Press and Media_**
- Draft press releases for key announcements from the charity, including events, grant awards and fundraising campaigns
- Liaise with external bodies to gain and approve content for press releases, including statistics, key messages and quotes
- Liaise with team administrator to ensure timely response to all press and media enquiries to GMMC
- Lead on development and maintenance of case study library to support external communications about the impact of GMMC funding, and the importance of tackling homelessness (with reference to local, regional and national policy and politics)

**Person Specification**
**_ Knowledge and Experience_**
- Essential_
- Experience in a digital communication role
- Experience contributing to / delivering effective digital and social media strategies to maximise campaigns and/or meet fundraising targets
- Experience using a range of integrated channels, tactics and tools (e.g. website optimisation, SEO, organic socials, supporter journeys) to meet campaign and fundraising targets
- Experience managing and prioritising conflicting demands
- Experience drafting effective and compelling content for a range of audiences
- Experience of website content management systems and knowledge of website optimisation (the GMMC website uses Craft CRM)
- Understanding of the importance of storytelling and emotional connection to successful fundraising and campaigning
- Understanding of the digital landscape
