- We’re currently recruiting team leaders to manage our Waste regulation and Land & Water teams in Yorkshire Area. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and committed management team creating a greener, resilient, and sustainable future for Yorkshire.
- As a Team Leader, you'll take accountability for line managing the team. You will lead, inspire and motivate your team to achieve results. You will ensure the team have the correct resources, skills and operational capabilities to fulfil their roles and adapt to change. You’ll also have responsibility for ensuring we maintain key networks and relationships with local communities, Local Authorities and professional partners.

The team
- The Waste and Land & Water teams undertake a range of compliance and regulatory activities to protect air, water and land quality. The Waste teams focus on regulation of waste sites and enforcement of waste legislation. The Land & Water teams lead on water company regulation and enforcement/agriculture/water quality/water resources. Both teams have an incident response role for environmental incidents, often working alongside the emergency services. Each team has a defined geographical patch within Yorkshire.

Experience/skills required
- This role would suit someone looking to develop into a leadership role or an experienced line manager who would like a change of role and to gain some experience of environmental regulation. You'll have a strong commitment to people, both your team and customers, with good communication and influencing skills. You’ll be comfortable working independently where needed, using your initiative to make risk-based decisions. You’ll be highly organised and able to manage and prioritise a complex workload, often working to tight deadlines. You should be able to remain positive and focused on the key priorities, even when conflicting demands conspire to knock you and your team off course. You should be passionate about leading and developing people to be the best they can. Knowledge or experience of environmental regulation is desirable but not essential. We will provide you with all the training, coaching and support needed to fulfil the role.
