About The Role***
We are looking for a dynamic person to assist and support our busy facilities team.
Importantly you will need to be adaptable, flexible, recognising the benefits and importance of teamwork and adaptability are key components of this role as operational requirements may change at short notice
Liaising regularly with colleagues, supervisors, and managers to ensure an efficient and effective service is always delivered to the client is key.
Reporting to the senior management team, you will have a varied role with an understanding of all departments within the contract and will be tasked to cover in any one of these departments to help support the team’s contractual obligations.
You will be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours are between 7:300am till 6:00pm.
This role will include working within the following areas of the contract.
- Reception: being the first impression to visitors at the Met Office, meeting and greeting, issuing security passes and responding to enquires.
- Cleaning/ Waste: working within a busy team carrying out all aspects of cleaning within a large office building, dealing with the recycling of waste within the agree terms of the waste management policy.
- Print & stationery: Includes using multi-functional device printers, binding, laminating, and printing along with restocking and control on the various stationery locations around the building.
- Post Room: Dealing with post & goods inwards and outwards sending various items within the UK and around the world within given deadlines.
- IT/QA stores: Controlling of stock in both stores’ teams, dispatch of equipment and working closely with the client to meet the needs of the business.
- Catering/ Hospitality: Assisting with all aspect of running a restaurant service, 24-hour shop, vending, and hospitality service.
- Events: Providing meeting and conferencing facilities, room layout, moving of tables & chairs and controlling room booking
- Second site cover: We look after the reception, cleaning, and hospitality on a much smaller second site which may require cover during holidays and sickness.
Main Duties:
- Reporting into the senior management team each day to collect your schedule for the day,
- To assist and understand the role of all departments on the contract and to help within these areas when required, this is to ensure a robust and resilient level of cover is available when periods of leave or sickness occur along with assisting during busy periods.
- Responding to re-active tasks that come through throughout the day and ensuring they are dealt with efficiently.
To be successful in the role, you will need:
- Proven team working skills
- A ‘Can do’ attitude with a hands-on approach to work, happy to help when needed.
- Good written and verbal communication and administration skills
- Confidence in speaking to others in a professional environment.
- Previous experience working in a busy environment with constant demands on time.
- To display a positive and professional attitude
- IT knowledge of word and excel important
