A Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant - Reading - fantastic opportunity - aspiring Secondary school SEN teachers looking for a challenge or for someone looking to gain experience for a career in Psychology - ASAP/September start

Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic person looking to work with children with Special Educational Needs or are you an aspiring teacher looking for experience with children who have additional needs? A school in Reading are looking for a caring and patientindividual who will work alongside a classroom teacher supporting students with their work focusing on their social, emotional and mental health needs to start ASAP or ready for a September start. This is an ideal position for those graduated with a degreein Education or Psychology based in Reading.

The students that you would be assisting are KS5 (16+) needing someone to give them consistency and routine to their studies and day in their provision.

The job role:

- ASAP/September Start
- Reading based
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant
- Work with a range of needs in students 16+
- Work alongside qualified professionals in the field with opportunities to shadow and observe.
- Additional training can be provided
- Ideal for career progression in Psychology or Education

The school is full of passionate professionals who provide an education for students with complex needs including social and emotional challenges such as anxieties and trauma along with some learning difficulties for example; dyslexia, autism and ADHD. TheSEMH teaching assistant will be responsible for ensuring the students are engaged in their lessons and further studies, promoting positive self-esteem to teenagers.

The SEMH teaching assistant should be resilient with an open mind to support mental health challenges of these young people. A degree in Education or Psychology is desirable but not essential.
