**Networks Technical Lead**

**Contract Term: 6 Months**

**Location: Abbey wood and Corsham (Hybrid working)**

Networks Technical Lead Manage and lead a Networks Infrastructure Technical Support Team to provide Networks infrastructure support and guidance to ITMS in accordance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs). Work within the DBS DIT Windows and Networks Team, ensuring that all incidents and requests relating to all aspects of the Networks Infrastructure are resolved within SLA timescales. Manage and lead with support to projects to successfully implement changes to the Networks Infrastructure. Work to B2 DBS TMS Senior Support Manager.

**As a Networks Technical Lead your main responsibilities would be**:

- Liaise on any work with the Service Management staff to ensure that cross DBS incidents ad Network outages are addressed in a timely and coherent manner
- Provide Subject Matter Expert level support when required.
- Lead and contribute to continuous improvement activities and standard working practices across the Network technical support function
- Including the support of Cloud Technologies now being incorporated.
- Lead on Network access management - ensure robust security and access rules are maintained. Discuss new rules with IT security to agree access.
- Lead and manage any External Assistance contractors brought in to work on Network tasks. Detail work to the EA and manage progress. Ensure KT is provided where required.
- Cyber security - Take the lead on any issues that arise regarding cyber security and work with the cyber security lead to ensure that all issues or observations are dealt with in a timely manner. Act as point of contact for cyber-security issues.
- Work with other Network managers to form a Network team that provides support for current and future Network deployments?
- Lead on any escalated incidents ensuring all are dealt with in accordance with standard practice. Ensure that normal service is restored as quickly as possible, to minimise any disruption to the business.
- Act as a Network expert helping projects with network design and specification when required. Advise on any Network configuration submitted by any project.
- Lead Network activities with any SAAS interface work required.
- Where a forthcoming issue can be pre-empted, ensure remedial action is taken prior to an incident occurring.
- Where the current level of service for an area in the Network Infrastructure is being escalated by the business as a cause for concern, lead on remedial actions that are sought and implemented
- Proactively lead and analyse the root causes of specific Network infrastructure problems and implement the appropriate solutions to ensure rapid recovery
- Take the lead on input into Network support service risk. Specifically, identify non-compliance and recommend remediation, mitigation and/or positive acceptance of risk from a Network support viewpoint. Escalate risks as required through the relevant governance process
- Work closely with UNIX, WINDOWS, DBA and Service Management Team members to ensure all employees are kept up to date with improvements and changes to infrastructure Network.
- Act as a lead for point of review on Network technical support
- Assist as required in support of Windows infrastructure e.g. backup processes & incident resolution
- Lead and support, on Data Centre power-down/up requirements including out of hours requirements
- Contribute to maintaining support lifecycle of hardware

**You’ll have relevant experience in**:

- Experience in IT Networks.
- Working knowledge of IT Service Management & Operations.
- In-Depth knowledge and experience of Networking technologies, such as WAN/LAN, Firewalls, Network security, Switching, Content Services, Load Balancing Principles and Routing.
- In-Depth knowledge and experience of Networking protocols and concepts, such as TCP/IP, NAT, RIP, SSH, SFTP, SNMP
