**Criminal Justice Resilience Worker**
**Reports To**:Senior Resilience Worker / North Wales Recovery and Resilience Manager**
**Grade/ Salary**:£ 21,000 - 23,000 Per annum**
**Location**:Wrexham
The role will be expected to travel across the 6 county regions of North Wales. Some home working can be facilitated.
**Hours**:Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Includes some weekend working, as per Rota. Normal working day 9.00-17.00**

**Background**
Kaleidoscope is a pioneering substance misuse treatment and support provider, offering evidence-based treatment and holistic support to individuals who access its services. Staff teams work collaboratively with partner agencies including Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), Local Authorities, North Wales Police (NWP) and the North Wales Office of Police and Crime Commissioner (NWOPCC), HMPPS (Her Majesties Prison and Probation Service), PHW (Public Health Wales), and other third sector support agencies.
Kaleidoscope offers dedicated assessment and interventions, care co-ordination, recovery care planning, group activities, health and wellbeing, harm reduction, housing support, independent living, and mutual aid services to those involved within the Criminal Justice system. Services work closely with current community providers to ensure transfer of care from prison services, community treatment and into wider recovery support.
**Services offered**:
Dechrau Newydd aims to engage those at risk of offending or who are involved in the Criminal Justice system and support them to reduce offending, improve their health and social functioning, engage with multi agency support, and make sustainable lifestyle changes. Dechrau Newydd provides Opiate Substitute Therapy (methadone/ oral lyophilisate (Espranor) and buprenorphine pro-longed release injection (Buvidal) for 12 weeks after release from prison, and to individuals who have been sentenced to a Drug Rehabilitation Requirement. The service will offer dedicated assessment and interventions, care co-ordination, recovery care planning, group activities, health and wellbeing, harm reduction, recovery, and mutual aid services to those involved within the Criminal Justice system. Dechrau Newydd is delivered in partnership by Kaleidoscope Project and CAIS/Adferiad.
Services work closely with current community providers to ensure transfer of care from prison services, police and probation, health care and treatment services into wider recovery support.
**Role Purpose**:
The post holder will be required to co-ordinate and deliver harm reduction, structured interventions, and recovery support. The Resilience Worker will work closely with Kaleidoscope and community clinical service providers, and other partners to ensure a person centred, holistic, integrated substance misuse delivery program.
The Resilience Worker will provide assessment, recommendation, and feedback to colleagues within HMPPS and North Wales Police on the suitability and recovery progress of substance misuse service users within the Criminal Justice system.
The post holder should enjoy face-to-face contact with people who have recognised that their use of substances has become problematic. They will have excellent communication skills, be able to work closely with other multi-disciplinary agencies and be able to work flexibly and efficiently to ensure services are delivered equitably and at times to suit the service user.
They will be expected to work in line with the Social Services and Well Being (Wales Act) 2014, and the Violence Against Women Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015 to ensure safeguarding of individuals (adult and children) is at the heart of service delivery. A good understanding of confidentiality and information sharing legislation is required with the confidence to act professionally and seek guidance and support from line management and colleagues where appropriate.

- To keep up to date records of service user work (case notes) data entry and reports as and when requested.
- To make referrals to other services and agencies as appropriate
- To attend partnership and service delivery meetings when required
- To bring to the attention of management any areas of specific concern relating to safeguarding of individuals or service delivery.
- Advocating on a service user’s behalf, for example by writing letters, making phone calls, or attending meetings.
- Assist with clinical monitoring and communication for opiate substitute prescribing
- Provide harm reduction interventions including Naloxone
- Delivery 1:1 and group interventions in line with psychologically informed practice and recovery framework.
