Medical Secretary

Applications are invited for the position of a Band 3 Medical Secretary within the North Wales Cardiac Centre, Glan Clwyd Hospital.
The post holder will provide comprehensive secretarial support to Consultants and other Clinical staff, as required.
It is essential that the applicant holds Medical Secretarial Qualifications, along with previous medical secretarial experience, has a high level of audio typing skills, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and a good telephone manner. A flexible approach to work is needed to meet the demands of the service.
The post holder will possess excellent time management skills, be well organised and have the ability to prioritise workload demands to meet strict deadlines, whilst producing work to the highest standards.
The post holder will also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using discretion, judgment and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential together with a keen eye for detail, with the ability to process and generate urgent and routine correspondence.
Accurately carry out from audio/copy the typing of patient related correspondence/reports using the appropriate software to agreed organisational standards/competencies.
Filing patients information into medical notes, as required
Type complex reports/letters, ensuring accuracy and within specified timescales.
Minute taking for any MDT / business meetings within Cardiology.
Ensure that accurate, timely information is entered and maintained on the appropriate patient information system.
Answering phones/Taking messages
Requesting notes from/to locations within BCU.
Record keeping using Microsoft Office database
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
