A Secondary school setting in north South Manchester area is looking for a strong Youth Worker to join their team for this term, on a full-time basis, with the potential for this to become a permanent role if you get on well. This school caters for pupils of secondary ages, and the role will be to support pupils who are close to being excluded, so, as a Youth Worker, you will face challenging behaviour, with part of your role being to manage this in and out of the classroom. As a Youth Worker working with pupils with challenging behaviour, some from vulnerable backgrounds, you must show, if not previous experience in a similar setting, the ability to be able to manage challenging behaviour and situations. The school is reputable across the area and is well known for it’s high academic achievements over the most recent yeara.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Managing behaviour in the class supporting the class teacher
- Working with small key groups outside of the class
- Helping to manage behaviour between lessons and during break hours, on occasion
**Required Skills & Experience**:
- ESSENTIAL - Strong behaviour management
- ESSENTIAL - Experience within a school/working with young people
- ESSENTIAL - A “team player” attitude with a positive and flexible approach to work
- DESIRED - Experience within a challenging school setting
