The overall purpose of the Fabricator is to design, cut, join and shape metal to create structures, objects and component parts or repair existing ones. The Fabricator will read and interpret assembly and drawing specifications in order to establish the correct process, identifying and selecting the correct materials and preparing the materials for assembly using either a manual, automated or mechanised process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Read and interpret drawings and plans to develop and design fabrication projects
- Interpret procedures, specifications and standards in engineering construction
- Lay out, cut, fit, measure and tack weld metals to create desired shape or object
- Use of manual or automatic cutting equipment
- Use of burning equipment
- Manufacture using detailed drawings
- Inspect and test assembly for durability as well as meeting specified standards, highlighting any items that do not meet job requirements
- Inspect, examine and test equipment to determine if repairs or new equipment is needed
- Complete reports, RAMS, job sheets in a clear and concise manner
- Detail fabrication procedures, programmes and work methods
- Liaise with both internal and external customers
- Provide updates to Fabrication Supervisor advising of job progress
- Take full responsibility for the quality of work
- Work in a safe and organised way
- Ensure work area is kept clean, tidy and organised
- All other workshop duties as deemed necessary
- Demonstrate awareness of the technical standard when carrying out your role

**Qualifications & Experience**

To be successful in this role, you should have:

- Time served welding & fabricating Apprenticeship
- ASME 9 or EN ISO 9606-1
- Pump and component knowledge
- Ability to use engineering measuring equipment
- Knowledge of safe systems of work
- Valid UK driving license
- CSCS/EUSR Card Holder
- Confined Space Entry training
- DOMS & Water Hygiene (desirable)
- Overhead pendant crane/gantry crane training
- Lifting Operations training
