Estate Caretaker

We are currently seeking a Caretaker to join our team in Northallerton to carry out general caretaking duties and assist in the delivery of excellent customer focused services.

The Role

To ensure our estates and communal areas are clean, safe and attractive for our customers, you will carry out regular inspections of internal and external communal areas and proactively identify work required and undertake the removal of rubbish, liaising with local councils if required, semi skilled maintenance repairs to our estates as well as landscape maintenance duties.

Other duties will include fire alarm and emergency lighting testing in accordance with a defined programme and identifying and reporting relevant tenancy issues to the Housing Officer.

About you

**You will have**:
Excellent customer care skills along with previous experience of working with the general public.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Self-motivation with the ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative.

Good basic knowledge of property maintenance

The ability to climb ladders and be physically able to undertake the required duties

**You will ideally have**:
Previous carpentry, plumbing or building experience.

Experience of landscape maintenance / gardening

Health and Safety knowledge

Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence is essential.
