Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a well known, established business based on the outskirts of York City Centre. Due to a recent positive restructure, our client are currently looking to recruit for two PurchaseLedger Clerks that will report directly into the Accounts Payable Manager. You will join a developed, knowledgeable yet small finance team and as such will gain start to finish experience of the Accounts Payable process. This is an excellent opportunity todevelop your skills within a supportive business that encourages employee development and training.
The client is able to offer hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
- Processing high volumes of purchase invoices and credit notes per month.
- Matching and coding purchase invoices.
- Prioritising supplier payments and making sure the ledger is updated for payment.
- Dealing with supplier queries and first point of contact over the telephone.
- Performing supplier statement reconciliations.
- Maintaining relationships with both colleagues and clients.
- Other ad-hoc tasks such as month end reporting and assisting within other areas of finance as and when required.
You will:

- Have previous experience of working within a finance team within accounts payable or another area and will have an interest in a career in finance.
- Be able to prioritise your workload and work to strict deadlines.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be eager to learn and will have a positive, hands on approach.
