**Job Title: Accountants Assistant**
**Reporting to**:Accounting Services Manager**
**Nature of the Position: Fixed Term Full-Time for 6 months**
**Location: Portlethen, Aberdeenshire**
**Role Overview**:
The job holder is responsible for assisting with day-to-day tasks within the Finance department. The main responsibilities are the administration and maintenance of the purchase ledger and credit control in line with the Hunting credit insurance scheme.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assisting to maintain and cleanse the sales ledger accounts ensuring all details are accurate and up to date
- Posting cash to sales ledger
- Assisting in chasing overdue invoices
- Assisting in answering customer queries
- Accurately checking, coding and posting of invoices to the purchase ledger for entities/vendors assigned
- Dealing with purchase ledger queries/issues that arise and liaising with other departments to resolve
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Preparation of payments runs for approval as required
- Providing cover and support to the department
**Qualifications/Skills and Experience**:
**Essential**:
- Ability to prioritise and multi task
- Good basic level of education
- Experience of working in an office environment and the credit control function
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English
**Desirable**:
- Accounting and Finance related HNC
- Knowledge and experience of an ERP system, ideally Microsoft D365
- Full Driving Licence
**Personal Qualities**
- Full Driving Licence
- Excellent communication (both written and oral), influencing and interpersonal skills
- High degree of commercial acumen
- Highly professional conduct
