JHE & Partners are delighted to be working exclusively with a large, international business in Wakefield who are looking in the market for a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. Hybrid working is on offer with this role but you must be local to WestYorkshire as you will be required to attend the office for training and occasional management meetings.

Working with the Senior Finance Manager, this role is integral to the accounting function ensuring thorough and accurate reporting whilst managing a small finance team. It is vital you have the necessary skills to work across multiple areas of the businessimproving efficiencies adding commercial value to decision making.

Duties of the role include:

- Managing and leading a small finance team
- Co-ordinate and prepare of monthly management accounts for EMEA regions, including detailed monthly review of overheads
- Assist in the preparation of monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations for EMEA regions
- Posting of journals and maintenance of monthly accruals and prepayments
- Take the lead in both internal and external audit, ensuring audits and local stat filling are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Assisting in the preparation and drafting of annual accounts
- Quarterly analysis of VAT and preparation of support for VAT, Intrastat & EC Sales returns. Develop compliance and simplify processing of returns.
- Developing solutions to changing demands of the business
- Working on other areas of the financial and management accounts process as required e.g. assistance in annual audit & interim reporting to parent company
- Working pro-actively with the Senior Finance Manager as regards all aspects of Internal Financial Control
