Vacancy: Senior Buyer

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire

Industry: Electrical wholesale products

**Salary**: Up to circa £40,000 per annum + bonuses and other benefits including private healthcare and company car

Oversee the purchasing and stock control departments of over £1 million pounds worth of stock within the business.

Assisting and helping develop a strong procurement team in a professional manner.

The Role:

- Head up all things in relation to purchasing
- Communicate with our suppliers with good negotiation & relationship building
- Instigate company product training & supplier introduction/ networking with the team
- Manage and set out your procurement team as you see fit
- Manage stock levels to achieve good stock turns working in hand with our sales levels and predictions (current stock £1Million +)
- Improve credit terms & get additional credit on large orders to achieve higher creditor days
- Negotiate new and improved rebates to maximise our spending power
- Keep on top of all returns & keep write-down to a minimum (with cleanses and sales or return caveats with suppliers)
- Maximise the discounts and net prices we can achieve through our buying power
- Cement supplier relationships
- Consolidate areas of faster moving product, to enable us to focus our sales teams to sell what we want to push

The Package
- Salary: £30K to £40K (depending on experience)
- Laddered scale of growth % bonus reward based on NP (for your annual bonus)
- Automatically opted in after 3 months to company pension scheme (up to 3% contribution matched)

- Company Car VW golf Diesel, with fuel card
- Laptop
- 22 days paid holiday (in addition all bank holidays & extra days over Xmas week)
- Hours 8am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday (with 30 min lunch break) occasional Saturday morning 8am -12pm [1 in every 5 weeks]
